The history of the Belles Rives begins with a discovery: the ‘Lost Generation’, composed of a disenchanted youth and artists broken by the First World War, heads to the South of France and invents the Côte d’Azur.  Heading up the American trend for between-the-wars literature, F. Scott Fitzgerald and his wife, Zelda, pack their bags in 1925 for the French Riviera and succumb to the charm of a dwelling called the « Villa Saint-Louis » in a cove on the Cap d’ Antibes.

It’s here that he writes his masterpiece, ‘Tender is The Night’, transforming Villa Saint Louis into a resort for wealthy Americans discovering the pleasures of wild partying and swimming in the sea.  The Belles Rives can be found on the sun-kissed road of the Cap d’ Antibes, nestled in a cove by the water with the Lérins Islands and the Estérel mountains as a backdrop.

The gentle frenzy of the Roaring Twenties is still felt here with a party atmosphere that is enhanced by an informal elegance. All the Riviera glamour is united in a place where charm, serenity and exclusivity go hand in hand.   The former home of Scott Fitzgerald and his wife, Zelda, the Hôtel Belles-Rives’ bold Art Deco styling and blue striped awnings has a nostalgic ring reflecting the riotous glamour of that heady era. Today, time spent on the private beach and balmy evenings in the piano bar and dining by the water’s edge recreates the chic elegance of those bygone days.

Head to the Hôtel Belles-Rives’ private beach and pier for some sun bathing and a swim or try one of the many water sports available. Then, dine on the waterfront terrace with its unsurpassed sea views – the epitome of Mediterranean chic.  Every Saturday morning, discover the Meditation Classes following by a healthy break on the Belles Rives Beach.  Some simple gestures that will allow you to enjoy every moment and reach a perfect well-being!
